Glancing, turning,
Moving away,
She turned and fled,
Until the next day.
Never stopping,
Not for rest,
She pushed herself,
Just like a test.
Trying to forget,
Erasing, repenting,
She just kept running,
Never ending.

Sunday, November 23, 2008 Old Man John's Love

He sat on his steps,
Cigarette to his lips,
Craving to hear her speak.
whyhello!
He sat on his steps,
His eyes wide open,
Hoping to see her pass.

A crush; decades old,
Manifested itself,
Till it became an obsession.
stupid blogger laa
For Old Man John,
Was in love with his neighbour,
The dead Miss Francine Jackson.
wont space properly
Little did he know,
That Francine loved him too,
And would walk by just to see him smoke.
so I have no choice
She would fluff her hair,
And do up her eyes,
Just to look real nice.
but to do this.
But never did she,
Confess her love,
For John hadn't said a word.
I ate Mac & Cheese earlier.
So, now my dear friends,
Listen up close,
And just go out and take a chance,
You may be let down,
You may get all hurt,
But at least you won't ever regret.
I'M GONNA TURN FAT!
For every single day
Mister Old Man John,
Would sigh and wring his hands,
For if he had told
Miss Francine of his love,
Many happy days they would have spent.
alright,buhbye

Friday, November 21, 2008 A Day of a Malaysian Schoolboy

Yeahh. This' the story that got published in Dewan Siswa a while back.

-

Razak sat on the edge of his seat, his eyes focused on the large clock in front of the class. Around him, his classmates were lost in their own little world. Still, each and every one of them waited for the sound of the ringing bell. Some of them were squirming restlessly in their seats while others were more blatant in their enthusiasm to escape the stuffy classroom.

The black haired Malay boy tore his gaze away from the clock and turned towards his classmates. His mouth twitched as he tried to suppress a laugh when he saw Ah Meng lying on his desk with his mouth open. He was drooling slightly and his right cheek was squashed against the table.

”Fifteen minutes left.”

Ah Meng woke up with a start at the sound of the teacher’s sharp voice. He wiped a trail of drool from his face and caught Razak staring at him. He gave the other boy a quick grin before dozing off again.

The artistic Chinese boy had brown hair and rather feminine features. His long hair framed his face perfectly, giving him an angelic appearance. Razak stopped looking at his friend and turned his attention back to his exam paper. He glanced through it quickly and closed it again.

His attention was diverted again by another one of his classmates. Sudaesh was stacking the contents of his pencil box on the edge of his desk.

So far, he managed to build some sort of fence surrounding his desk using erasers and pencils. He was about to add finishing touches to his masterpiece with his ruler when suddenly, the teacher slammed Sudaesh’s desk with his fist causing all his stationary to fall to the ground.

Quirky and sarcastic, Sudaesh was quick to think of a retort. But one glare from the fierce teacher was enough to make him collect his stationary and put them back neatly in his pencil box. For the second time that day, Razak forced himself to hold back a laugh when he saw the distressed look on his friend’s face.

“Ten minutes left.”

And yet again, Ah Meng snapped awake. Giving up on sleeping, he took out his pencil and began sketching on the back of his exam paper. Razak craned his neck and laughed when he saw a drawing of Sudaesh. It wouldn’t have been funny except for the expression on Sudaesh’s face which was akin to the expression of a constipated person.

“Razak! Is there anything funny you would like to share with the class?”
“No. Sorry, Cikgu.”
“Now keep your voice down. Seven minutes left.”

Ah Meng grinned at Razak’s embarassment. The Malay boy shot Ah Meng a sharp glare and buried his head in his hands. He was lucky the teacher didn’t take away his exam paper. He got up and flipped through it, making sure he answered all the questions.

Razak could feel Ah Meng’s gaze boring into him trying to signal a silent apology. He ignored him. He knew he would suffer the concequences later but he didn’t mind. He might as well make his friend suffer a little. Just the thought of that made him smile and immedietely, Ah Meng’s brow furrowed.

Ah, I’ll just put him out of his misery

He scrawled something on his eraser and dropped it on the ground. Ah Meng quickly picked it up and smiled when he read it. The Chinese boy promptly replied and dropped the eraser. Razak slowly bent down and grabbed the eraser which read,

“R: Meng, It’s okay. Mamak later?
M: Sure, R.”

Razak settled back comfortably in his seat waiting for the bell to signal his freedom.

“Hand your paper to the front. There’s no need to turn around or make noise.”

Razak silently handed his paper to the person in front of him. He waited for the countdown he knew would come. Right on cue, Sudaesh began slamming the table shouting, "Ten.. Nine..”

Soon, the whole class was chanting. The teacher’s attempt to restrain the class were left unnoticed as the students’ voices became louder and louder. “Two.. One… MERDEKA!!!”

This wasn’t the National Day. But it was freedom. Razak was practically leaping with joy, glad that the final exams were over.

“Raz, let’s go eat! I’m starving.”
“Meng! Waitlah. At least thank the teacher first.”
“You thank him for me. I’m leaving. Wait for you outside.”

Razak rolled his eyes at his friend’s disrespectful behaviour. He went to the front of the class, thanked the teacher and ran out, breathing the fresh, cool air of Ipoh, Perak. He saw Ah Meng leaning against his bright red bicycle, attempting to look suave.

He failed.

Ah Meng toppled over his bicycle. Razak ran to Ah Meng’s side and tried to help him up. Ah Meng, being the stubborn boy he was, tried to salvage what dignity he had left and get up by himself. This resulted in him tripping over his own feet and landing on the ground. Again.

Trying to be a good friend, Razak offered to help Ah Meng up once more. Ah Meng refused yet again, his mouth set in a determined line. Ah Meng looked so much like a stubborn 5-year-old that Razak couldn’t contain his laughter.

He laughed so hard that his sides ached from laughing and his eyes were starting to tear up. Finally, Ah Meng managed to pull himself up. He knocked the side of Razak’s head, causing the poor boy to laugh hysterically again. Soon, both of them were laughing so uncontrollably that the people walking by started looking at them oddly.

After a while, they managed to settle down. Razak got his bicycle and they both wheeled the bikes to the front of the school. Once they were outside the school compound, they untucked their shirts and climbed on their bicycles.

They looked at each other, their eyes challenging. Soon, they were off.

Both of them were pedalling so hard towards the mamak stall that they didn’t notice another bicycle coming from behind. Suddenly, a bright blue bicycle sped past them. Razak and Ah Meng immedietely recognized the rider and called after him.“

Sudaesh! Mamak stall. Now!”

Sudaesh nodded his head and pedalled faster. They arrived at the stall, panting hard. The three boys quickly locked their bicycles and sat down. They proceeded to order their food. Before they ate, they made a toast to Malaysia and Merdeka. Independence and freedom.

Now, when I reread it, I note some parts which I could have changed for the better. Ah well. :D
Wrote this last year. :)

Tuesday, November 18, 2008 HAHA

Haha. Alright Eugene. Here's for you. Thanks for the laughs.

-
Sure, I'll smile,
Sure, I'll laugh,
But does it make sense?
Not a chance.

They're kinda odd,
Random too,
But I'm sure you tried;
Which itself is good.

So, keep it up,
Amuse a few,
Take your time,
You'll write well soon.
:D :D :D

Tuesday, November 11, 2008 Peace

Fortunate to be blessed with such a sight,
Happiness fills her eyes with light,
She smiles as the waves brush her feet,
Leaning back in her comfortable seat.
His arms come around her waist,
As she struggles to stay awake,
He pulls her onto his lap,
And lets her lie there, just like that.
She's at peace, finally,
Sitting with him,
Beside the sea.
